Best Available Evidence: A New Clinical Decision Tool to Guide Critical Thinking

Developed by DIFM’s research fellow, IFM experts from DIFM, and research experts from the Academy’s research team, the Best Available Evidence Decision Tool, available exclusively to DIFM members, can help guide your practice by using the best available evidence.

This online, interactive practice tool will help guide you through the clinical decision-making process and sort through the available scientific research on assessment tools and interventions. It will prompt you to search the literature and, using the hierarchy of evidence (nutrition practice guidelines to practice-based evidence), to select the best available evidence and associated clinical recommendations. This tool can be applied to any area of nutrition practice.
